Solid wood is a living material that reacts to changes in temperature and humidity. Over time, this can cause the wood to crack or split. Beflo desks are crafted from carefully selected wood with a lower moisture content and treated to withstand typical indoor environments, reducing the likelihood of these issues. However, maintaining a stable indoor environment with consistent humidity can further reduce this risk.
The Tenon desktop is designed to rest securely on the frame without the need for screws. While our desk frame includes screw holes to support various desktop types, we strongly recommend not fastening solid wood desktops like Tenon, as screwing them in can create tension that may lead to cracking over time—especially in environments with fluctuating humidity.
Solid wood naturally expands and contracts. Allowing it to move freely on the frame without screws reduces stress and helps preserve the integrity of the wood. For plywood or other engineered wood desktops, screwing into the frame is still acceptable.
Although the typical assembly process involves attaching the frame and desktop before flipping the desk upright, for solid wood desktops, we suggest placing the desktop directly onto the frame after flipping it, or gently assembling it in place without screws. This ensures both ease of installation and long-term durability.

Beflo desks come with a high-quality finish that offers a degree of resistance to everyday wear and tear, making maintenance easy and straightforward. Ideally using water to clean and avoiding detergents.
